Power Measurements in the PV Industry

After an extensive work from the project consortium including a series of surveys with the most experience companies and based on the partners' extensive  knowledge in this field, guidelines for power measurement have been produced and will be presented  to the industry and interested participants.

On the Thursday 10th September experts from the most knowledgeable research centers in EU, as partners of the PERFORMANCE project, will present the basis of power measurement for crystalline silicon and thin film technologies, the most reliable and accurate procedures and  the latest findings on how to treat (pre-conditioning) and measure innovative thin film technologies.

On the Friday 11th September the JRC will organize a practical technical session at the European Solar Test Installation in Ispra on state of the art techniques for characterization and power measurement using (on various solar simulators and natural sunlight) for a limited number of participants (max.30). This session is especially focused on those industry representatives who are directly involved in industry PV measurements (e.g. QA managers or or those responsible for line measurements and production metrology). There will also be a guided tour of the  ESTI facilities.

First day, 10^th September: Capacity for 150 participants

Second day 11^th September, Friday: Capacity for 30 participants (The JRC will select the participants based on their profile and order of registration)

Fee: The participation in both parts of the workshop is free of charge.

Venue: the first day of the workshop will take place in Hotel La Palma, Stresa, Italy. Stresa is located the beautiful region of Piemonte, on the western shores of the "Lago di Maggiore" in the heart of the northern Italian lake district. For the second day, a bus will transfer participants from the hotel to the JRC. A shuttle bus will be also available for the  return to Malpensa airport at the end of the second day.
